Frontiers Records announced the signing of Warrant, one of the most popular and successful American hard rock bands to come out of the Los Angeles musical scene. The band is currently in the studio recording a brand new album under the direction of Keith Olsen (Scorpions, Whitesnake and Night Ranger). The album tentatively titled “ROCKAHOLIC” is scheduled for a May 2011 Worldwide release.

Jerry Dixon commented, “The last few years has been like holding in a big “secret“ from the world and now we get to share it. I really think we captured a perfect mix of the past and present on this record. Each song has its own vibe that’s going to take people on a kick-ass Warrant rollercoaster ride. To help achieve an old school sound mixed with the flair of today, we called on the legendary Keith Olsen to do the production. There’s enough 80’s influence on songs like “Tears In The City” & “Sex Ain’t Love” to keep the die-hard Warrant fans rocking while introducing them to new material”.

Warrant has sold over 8 million records worldwide. The band first came into the spotlight with their debut multiplatinum album “Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich”, which included the smash hit single “Heaven.” The band continued its success in the 90's with the multiplatinum album “Cherry Pie” and the gold album “Dog Eat Dog”, both albums providing more hit singles in the Billboard Top 30.”ROCKAHOLIC” is sure to add more Billboard action for the band. With singer Robert Mason on lead vocals and original band members Erik Turner and Joey Allen on guitars, Jerry Dixon on bass and Steven Sweet on drums Warrant is ready to spread the ROCKAHOLIC addiction to the world.

Veteran Hard Rockers KING KOBRA are back

Formed in 1984 by legendary drummer Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, Rod Stewart, Ozzy Osbourne), Los Angeles heavy metal outfit King Kobra recorded two critically acclaimed albums for Capitol Records – the 1985 release 'Ready to Strike' and 1986's 'Thrill of a Lifetime'.

Along with Carmine, the band featured four relatively unknown musicians at the time – David Michael-Philips and Mick Sweda on guitar, Johnny Rod on bass and Mark Free on lead vocals. King Kobra toured the U.S., Canada, Europe and Mexico playing shows with Kiss, Iron Maiden, Quiet Riot, Ted Nugent, Queensryche and Autograph.

The band was featured regularly on MTV and performed the theme song for the #1 1986 motion picture "Iron Eagle". After disbanding in 1988, each member continued his career in other successful major-label groups - Carmine to Blue Murder (Geffen), Mark Free to Unruly Child (Interscope), Mick Sweda to the BulletBoys (Warner Bros.), Johnny Rod to W.A.S.P. (Capitol/EMI) and David Michael-Philips to Lizzy Borden (Metal Blade).

The year 2010 saw the band reunite the original classic '85 lineup, replacing original singer Mark Free (now Marcie Free) with veteran lead vocalist Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt, Quiet Riot). “This album captures all the great points we had in the 80's, but better” says Carmine Appice “The music is more traditional King Kobra music. Great lyrics, kick ass songs with cool hooks and really good playing. A really great hard rock/metal record with lots of energy”. David Michael-Phillips adds “It truly is an all-star album. Paul Shortino is amazing! I can honestly say he is one of the best vocalists in the business along with being one of the nicest and most generous people I have ever met”.

The band is planning to get on some targeted American and European summer festivals this year. Watch out: King Kobra is smokin' hot, back stronger than ever and "Ready to Strike" once again!

The new album “King Kobra” will include the following tracks: Rock This House, Turn Up The Good (Times), Live Forever, Tear Down The Walls, This Is How We Roll, Midnight Woman, We Got A Fever, Tope Of The World, You Make It Easy, Cryin' Turns To Rain, Screamin' For More, Fade Away.

SEVEN THORNS - Return To The Past

Seven Thorns is a band that hails from Denmark and this is is their second album so far. The band is playing melodic Power Metal, fast and catchy, the kind of stuff fans love to listen and sing along. There's tons of melodies here, either keyboard or guitar driven, and all are of top quality. Whatever a fan of the genre seeks, is here, and is done in an absolute perfect way. The songs are very good, melodic and as catchy as they should be, with excellent guitar works and keyboard lines. The vocals are also very good, staying mostly in the mid-range something that gives a bit more aggression to the whole album. Their influences from early Helloween and Gamma Ray mostly, is more than obvious, but this lack of originality is the only thing that one can find against this album. As musicians they are very good, specially the guitarist, but also everyone else as well, as compositions, the songs are also very strong and interesting, as production the music is as clear and shiny as it should be. So, if you put the originality thing aside, you have an album full of nice songs, memorable parts, a great rhythm section, and very good vocals. And this, for any Power Metal fan around, is enough. Check them out, cause they are very good.

BUT WE TRY IT - Dead Lights

This band comes from Germany and this is their first album so far. Right from the first note, one can be sure that this is not the average band, nor this is a debut with all the good and bad things one might expect. The band is quite talented, and this album shows their talent to the maximum. Managing to blend the melody of the Swedish Death scene, with the brutality of the US Death Metal, and the speed and aggression of Thrash, they created an album which is pure fun to listen to. Blending two types of brutal vocals, with crunching guitars, sticky melody tunes, and a tight rhythm section, the band creates songs that stick into your head, from the first to the last minute. Change is constant, but happens in a fluent way, so nothing seems out of place, boring or repetitive. It's fast and aggressive, brutal and raw at times, technical and well performed, and has a catchy feeling we liked very much. The production is also very good, and puts the final details to the music. If you are into Thrashcore, or you simply like music which is complex, brutal and well performed, do give them a try. They deserve it.
